Overview:The Investment Analyst Program (IAP) within Corporate Financial Services (CFS) is a 2-3 year commercial lending leadership development program designed as one of the primary career entry points into the GE Corporate Financial Services community. IAP is an intensive and comprehensive program that consists of on-the-job experience combined with formal classroom training. It is designed to teach a combination of technical, financial and business skills that will prepare you for a commercial lending position within GECFS or countless other opportunities. Candidate Prerequisites:
What IA's do for GECFS?The Investment Analyst program is part of Corporate Financial Services (CFS), a GE Commercial Finance business which functions like a bank: companies in need of liquidity come to GE for a loan. GE extends these loans in exchange for a lien on certain collateral (accounts receivables or inventory). Since collateral is the insurance GE has for loans, it is essential to monitor it. The IA program is a key component in protecting GE's interest in a borrower's collateral. Investment Analysts visit clients (borrowers of GE) to check in on how the business is doing and the state of the pledged collateral. Since GE lends to a number of companies across North America and in many industries, IA's have the opportunity to obtain a behind the scenes view of various industries and learn about different companies. |
