Robert McMahon Managing Director, Restructuring, GE Corporate Lending

McMahon is the head of Restructuring Finance within GE Corporate Lending.  He is responsible for some of the largest restructuring financings in the U.S., including Delta Airlines, Calpine, Kmart and Mirant. Recent turn-around financings his team has executed include Goody’s, Linens ‘n Things, Vertis Communications, DURA Automotive Systems and Hancock Fabrics.  Prior to this role, Rob was the Chief Operating Officer at GE’s Commercial & Industrial Finance group, overseeing business integration, Technology, Operations and Six Sigma teams. McMahon also served as Six Sigma Leader, and obtained Quality Leader certification. He joined GE Commercial Finance in 2000 as part of the Structured Assets Group to help oversee the recovery of an investment portfolio of financially distressed companies. Before GE, McMahon worked for 13 years at ABN AMRO and its U.S. subsidiaries, European American Bank and LaSalle National Bank managing non-performing portfolios of highly leveraged corporate transactions and commercial real estate loans. McMahon graduated from Fairfield University with a B.A. in Economics, and obtained an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
